The school joined BMWEC in 2013 as one of its associated learning centres. Prahita Htoo offers the new Myanmar curriculum taught in Burmese language as well as Thai non-formal education courses. Students who attend the school are of Burman, Karen and Muslim ethnicities from Myanmar. Their parents are mostly migrant agriculture workers. Prahita Htoo has a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) made up of 12 people and led by U Htein Linn.

The school has 2 buildings, one that is half wood and half cement and another made entirely of cement. Both are rented and each has 3 classrooms, each with a capacity of about 35 students. The school also has 2 toilets. It has no playground but does have enough space for children to gather in the school compound.

During the Covid pandemic, Prahita Htoo has provided Home-Based Learning activities, and GLOBAL Action has provided funding for teachers’ salaries (20,000 baht). Stationery, materials, curriculum and textbooks are provided by BMWEC.
