A. Events for Children and Training for Teachers
Since 2022, we have organized World Children’s Day events for students in our member
schools. These events include fun games, art and cultural contests, and other engaging
activities. Additionally, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day to honor and appreciate the
dedication of our teachers. In previous years, we have also arranged Child Safeguarding
(CSG) training sessions and seminars for teachers and staff at schools. These sessions aim
to build the capacity of school personnel to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
B. Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)
Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) curriculum is provided and taught in ten Migrant
Learning Centers (MLCs) through support from a partner organization, the Suwannimit
Foundation. These curricula are designed for Grade 4, Grade 5, and Grade 8 students and
are integrated into their learning timetables. The CSE program equips students with essential
knowledge and life skills related to health, relationships, and personal development.
C. School Health for Children in Migrant Learning Centers
School Health Focal Teachers are appointed and recruited every academic year in all migrant
learning centers. These focal teachers, along with student leaders, participate in health training
sessions conducted in collaboration with partner organizations. Continuous support and cooperation with school health teachers in MLCs to ensure the health and well-being of students. Provision of COVID-19 and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines for girls, as well as eye testing and other medical support, provided by Mae Tao Clinic.
D. Applying for Pink Cards, Work Permits, and Certificates of Identification (CI) for
Teachers
Many of our teachers in migrant learning centers live in Thailand without legal status. To
address this, BMWEC supports teachers in obtaining Pink Cards, work permits, Certificates of
Identification (CI), and visas. Although our support does not cover all teachers in MLCs, those
who benefit from this process gain the ability to attend meetings, training sessions, and other
educational events. Our key partner in this process is the Hsa Thoo Lei Foundation, a
registered organization in Thailand that plays a crucial role in supporting teachers’ legal
documentation and status. This cooperation enables teachers to work legally and participate
fully in capacity-building opportunities.
