- Islam Bang Rong (Night School)
Islam Bang Rong is a night school situated in the Islamic district of Mae Sot. It was established in 2005 by Miss Zo Lie Kha. She noticed that in her neighborhood, there were many students who helped their parents throughout the day and therefore could not attend school. Miss Zo Lie Kha decided to establish the school on her front veranda, beginning with 25 students. School starts officially at 5pm and goes on until 8pm. In this time, students learn Burmese, English, Mathematics and Science, all taught from the Burmese curriculum.
Most of the students are Muslim, though some are Hindu, Christian and Buddhist. All are of Burmese/Myanmar nationality but come from a mix of ethnic backgrounds. Parents generally work in the area as shopkeepers, market workers, or construction workers. Islam Bang Rong provides a safe, caring and positive environment for learning. Although space and resources are limited at the school, the teachers do a wonderful job making learning fun and interactive, while at the same time expecting hard work and academic excellence.
Islam Bang Rong Learning Centredid not have donor since 2018 and the school has struggled throughout the Covid – 19 pandemic. It has been 5 years now and have not received any donations from others. Fortunately, in 2021-2022, BMWEC provided school rent for one year. In this 2022 -2023, Islam Bang Rong is trying to reopen the school as new normal but the school need donation to run 2022-2023 academic year. Therefore, the school would like to propose funding for the teachers’ salaries, school operation and school maintenance in order to run and manage the school smoothly.

Islam Bang Rong uses Myanmar Curriculum. The instruction language is in Burmese. have 4 subjects which are.

Teachers from Islam Bang Rong are no licenses teachers but are done teacher training. They will also receive training every year as follows.

2. Teaching Subject which is provide by Myanmar MOE and Organizations in Thailand who are working for migrant education. Myanmar MOE will be Specialize on new curriculum.

The school building is made of wood and has 3 rooms. Each room can accommodate 20 children. The school rents a room and it is very small .57 children were assigned to study.
